LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- It's a bourbon boom for Maker's Mark, which announced a nearly $70-million expansion to meet growing demand.
This comes a year after the brand caused a stir, revealing plans to cut the amount of alcohol in each bottle to stretch supplies.
A backlash from customers forced Maker's Mark to scrap the idea.
In 2011, more than one million cases of the Kentucky whiskey, known for its red wax sealed bottle, were shipped.
It expects to reach 2 million cases later this decade.
