LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Metro Louisville council committee got a look at what Waterfront Park could look like in the future.
Metro Council's Sustainability Committee received an update Thursday on the design study for the fourth phase of Waterfront Park, which will extend the park westward.
The 22-acre site under review is located between 10th and 14th Streets.
Possible ideas from designer Andy Knight of MKSK include a Ferris wheel, in-ground trampolines, an observation deck that extends into the water and an ice rink.
A final Master Plan for the project could come in late spring.
The Waterfront Development Corporation Board and the Metro Council will both have to approve the final plan.
"[We will] try to get some numbers together so that we can at least put a proposal before the budget committee and before the Mayor, and hopefully get some funding to help jumpstart this project," said District 5 councilwoman Cheri Bryant Hamilton.
There will also be opportunities for the public to comment on the design of this project.
