LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A plan to stop cell phone use in Kentucky school and construction zones is now one step closer to becoming law.The bill that would make it illegal to start a call or dial a phone number in "no phone zones" passed the Ky. House Friday afternoon.
The measure would also double the fines for people caught texting while driving, which is already forbidden in Kentucky.
The bill was amended to exempt drivers using hands-free devices.
It now heads to the Ky. Senate.
