LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- It doesn't matter how cold it is outside, the Polar Plunge sends jumpers into cold water. Teams lucked out this year with temperatures pushing 60 degrees Fahrenheit, but the water was as cold as ever.

WDRB's own David Scott teamed up with producer Jessica Denson and editor Erica Combs to raise money for Special Olympics Kentucky.

"We've been doing this a long time," said President of Special Olympics Kentucky Trish Mazzoni, "15, 16 18 years. It's extremely important for our program, we hope to raise $320,000 today, but more than anything its March first and people are dying to get out."

David Scott's team raised a little over $14,000.
