LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – I have heard the arguments that it is time to drop Michigan State out of the Top 25. And that Kentucky also needs to exit. Iowa has its detractors. Ditto for Saint Louis.

Here is the problem: Who are the replacement parts?

There's really nobody out there to get excited about at the bottom of the Top 25. Everybody has legitimate flaws. Heck, everybody near the top of the poll has serious questions to answer, after you get past Arizona, Florida and Wichita State.

So I kept Michigan State, Kentucky, Iowa and Saint Louis in my top 25, instead of voting for teams I don't really believe are Top 25 teams – like Stephen F. Austin, Harvard or UMass.

I reached outside the usual suspects for one team – Green Bay, which has won the Horizon (Butler's old league) and defeated Virginia.
