LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Keith Kaiser gets a behind the scenes look at the Derby Dinner Playhouse's newest production, Copacabana.
Derby Dinner Playhouse presents the new musical comedy COPACABANA, running Now through March 30th, 2014.
"Her name was Lola. She was a showgirl…." Barry Manilow's Grammy Award-winning song is brought to life on the Derby Dinner stage.
COPACABANA presents the story of Lola as told through the eyes of Stephen, a present day aspiring songwriter whose imagination takes him back to a time when "music and passion were always in fashion."
A love letter to the Technicolor musicals of the 1940's, COPACABANA is full of huge, splashy production numbers with sensational choreography and unforgettable new Barry Manilow songs like "Dancing Fool", "I Gotta Be Bad", and "Havana, Caramba".
The book for COPACABANA was written by Barry Manilow, Jack Feldman, and Bruce Sussman, with music by Barry Manilow.
Derby Dinner's production of COPACABANA is under the direction of Lee Buckholz with choreography by Heather Paige Folsom, and musical direction by Scott Bradley.
The cast includes Kayla Peabody, Jillian Prefach, Cami Glauser, Nick Fitzer, Jordan Cyphert, John Vessels, Sara King, and more.
