LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police have arrested the owner of a Valley Station motel after he allegedly pointed a gun at a police officer.

According to the arrest report, it happened just before 10 p.m. on March 4, 2014 at Biff's Motel located at 13305 Dixie Highway in Valley Station. That's when police say the motel's owner, 77-year-old Winfred L. Sumner, became upset because an officer was conducting an investigation at the motel.

Police say the responding officer noticed Sumner's right hand was in his jacket pocket. The officer ordered Sumner to remove his hand from his pocket, but he "pulled out a gun and pointed it at the officer."

Reports say Sumner is also the owner of Biff's Gun World on Dixie Highway and one of the star's of the CMT reality show "Guntucky."

CMT has not responded to a request for comment from WDRB.

The officer repeatedly ordered Sumner to drop the gun, and drew his own weapon and pointed it at Sumner.

Sumner refused to lower his weapon until another officer arrived, drew his weapon and ordered him to drop the gun.

Sumner finally put the gun back in his pocket and surrendered.

Police say Sumner "smelled strongly of alcohol and admitted to drinking earlier." Both officers were in full uniform during the brief standoff.

Sumner was arrested and charged with wanton endangerment and alcohol intoxication in a public place. He was being held on a $25,000 full cash bond.
