LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- WDRB has confirmed that a Louisville man accused of pointing a gun at an LMPD officer earlier this week is a cast member on Guntucky, a reality TV show that airs on Country Music TV.
Police arrested 77-year-old Winfred Sumner on March 4, after he allegedly pointed a gun at an LMPD officer conducting an investigation at Biff's Motel in the 13300 block of Dixie Hwy. According to the arrest report, Sumner owns the motel and was upset that it was under investigation.
According to information posted about the Guntucky show on the CMT website, Sumner is known as Gran-pa Biff Sumner on the show and also owns the Knob Creek and Biff's Gun World in addition to the motel.
His bio on CMT says Sumner is "small in size but big when it comes to his temper, gun knowledge and lust for the ladies."
A spokeswoman for CMT confirmed that Sumner is a Guntucky cast member, but had no further comment.
Sumner also owns Knob Creek Gun Range and Biff's Gun World. He was arrested after the incident and charged with wanton endangerment and public intoxication in a public place. His bond was set at $25,000 full cash.
