LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The family of a Louisville woman who was found murdered in January in the Portland neighborhood is hoping a reward will help them find her killer.

Authorities say they are actively investigating the murder of 24-year-old Kristine Pierson. Her body was found behind a home along North 33rd Street in Portland on January 17th.

"Kristine was loving to a fault. I believe this is how a lot of this happened, you know. She definitely trusted the wrong person. I know she wasn't alone that night", Cheryl Browning, Pierson's mother.

Her mother says Pierson has no connections to that area, and they believe someone knows what happened to her.

They are now offering a $5,000 reward, and continue to hope for new information in this case.

Pierson's mother says her daughter's death has all been extremely hard on her.

"We're all lost without her. I don't know what to do. I don't sleep or eat. I just miss her so much. I just need help to find out who did this to her because she did not deserve what was done. We just need help in figuring it out," says Cheryl Browning.

Anyone with information is asked to call the LMPD crime tipline at 502-574-LMPD or Crime Stoppers, at 502-582-CLUE. Callers can remain anonymous.
