LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Some Indiana residents say the state's new slogan makes them look like unsophisticated bumpkins.

Indiana officials are defending the new tourism slogan, "Honest to Goodness Indiana." Others think it could hurt efforts to market Indianapolis as a vibrant destination.

Tourism officials say the slogan also represents all areas of the state.

But critics say it doesn't have anything to do with travel or tourism. Officials say two other finalists felt more like campaigns than sustainable brands.

The Honest to Goodness Indiana campaign rolls out this month.
