Savings fund could provide $200 million for Ind. transportation projects

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- $200 million could help pave the way for transportation projects in Indiana.

Ind. Gov. Mike Pence requested double that amount, but was shot down due to budget concerns.

A savings fund created last year would provide the funds. Originally, legislators planned to set aside $200 million each year until 2020 for highway projects.

Today's negotiations could make more money available for this year.

If the House and Senate agree on the changes to the bill, it will go to the governor for final approval.
