Ky. bill would forgive public schools up to 10 snow days

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky lawmakers are ready to help school districts dealing with a pile of snow days.

A House committee Tuesday morning approved a bill that would forgive public schools up to 10 missed days because of the winter weather.

Most state lawmakers were eager to approve it. Many are concerned that a longer school year would force students to take end-of-the-year tests in June.

JCPS is waiting for the state legislature to take action before approving high school graduation dates.
