LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police say they've arrested a Louisville suspect after he assaulted a man in Shelby Park.

According to an arrest report, the incident took place on Aug. 26, just before 2 p.m., at Shelby Park, near the intersection of E. Oak St. and S. Jackson St.

Police say 23-year-old Chase M. Pyle used a 2x4 wooden plank to attack a man who was sleeping in the park. According to the arrest report, Pyle was angry at the man because the man had accused him of assaulting his girlfriend.

Police say the man's jaw was broken in two places and required surgery to repair. The victim also allegedly sustained a swollen arm and had to get six stitches to repair a chin wound.

Pyle was arrested at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 12, and charged with first degree assault.
