Army to move recruiting and retention school to Fort Knox

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Army is moving its recruiting and retention school to Fort Knox.

The school is moving from South Carolina. That means some 3,000 - 4,000 students will attend the program each year.

The school's mission statement is to train and educate military and civilian leaders and develop complementary concepts, doctrine, organization, material and training across the spectrum of recruiting and retention.

The Army wanted the school to be at the same place as its recruiting command and human resources command, which have been at the post for the past several years.

The change takes effect in October.
