LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Indiana's hope of making a late run to the NCAA tournament ended in round one of the Big Ten tournament with a 64-54 loss to Illinois at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
The Hoosiers regrouped after falling behind 9-0 and trailed 30-28 at halftime. They hit 6-of-10 three-point attempts in the first half, but made just 2-of-13 inside the arc.
A quick six points to start the second half gave Indiana a 34-30 lead. They built it to five at 38-33 on a jump-hook by Freshman Devin Davis, but the Illini scored the next 11 to seize the lead for good.
Eighth-seeded Indiana (17-15) fell to 10-17 all-time in the conference tournament. The ninth-seede Illini (19-13) is now 6-2 against the Hoosiers in this event.
Tracy Abrams led Illinois with 25 points and 7 rebounds. Indiana was led by Yogi Ferrell's 14. Will Sheehey had 11 of his 13 in the first half.
