Clark County Schools superintendent to suggest extending school day

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE Ky. (WDRB) -- Greater Clark County Schools Superintendent Andrew Melin says he has a plan to make up the multitude of snow days amassed by his school system.

He says he wants to extend the school day by 45 minutes.

The measure, which would affect school days between April 7 and May 9, would avoid having to extend the school year to June 11, according to a news release.

Melin plans to make the recommendation during a meeting of the Board of School Trustees at 9 p.m. tonight at the GCCS Administration Building.
