LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- For the third straight year, the Louisville Cardinals are college basketball's most valuable team, according to data published in Forbes.

The report says U of L basketball is worth $39.5 million, which is a three percent increase from 2013. It credits the KFC Yum! Center and the 2013 NCAA Championship with boosting the team's value.

Louisville will move the Atlantic Coast Conference next season, which is expected to generate even more revenue for the Cards.

Forbes ranked the Kentucky Wildcats third on the list with a value of $32.5 million, and the Indiana Hoosiers fifth with a value of $25.4 million.
