ORLANDO, Fla. (WDRB) — President Barack Obama, filling out his NCAA men's tournament bracket as he does every year for ESPN, has picked the University of Louisville to lose in the title game for a second straight season.
Obama picked Indiana to beat the Cardinals last season, something the coach and team forgot to rib him about when they visited the White House in August as national champions.
Maybe it's a good omen for the Cardinals. Obama picked Michigan State to beat U of L this season in the finals, after having U of L advance past Arizona to reach the title game.
"Tom Izzo is a great tournament coach," Obama told ESPN's Andy Katz. "I've got Michigan State going all the way. ... He knows how to motivate folks and he knows how to coach. My pick: Michigan State. Bring it home for me. It's been a while since I've won my pool."
Obama picked against Kentucky in 2012. His last correct pick was North Carolina in 2009.
Obama also has the Louisville women's in the Final Four. ESPN will reveal his pick to win the women's tourney on SportsCenter at 11 p.m.
