Massachusetts mother acts as human speed bump

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - A Lawrence, Massachusetts mother risked her life to save her 2 year-old twin daughters.

Mindy Tran's left knee is crushed and her right leg dislocated and it was all for the love of her 2-year-old twin twin toddlers.

Earlier this month the 22-year-old backed her car into her garage, put it in park and had her girls buckled in the backseat. When she got out to lock her front door, the car started rolling.

Afraid it would roll down the steep driveway and into a busy street, Tran's motherly instincts took over.

Tran said, "My daughters are my everything, my everything and I don't want to see them in the hospital and I knew at that time it was either mine or theirs. It was all for my kids. I'm just glad my kids are fine."

Acting as a speed bump, Tran stopped the car with her body.

Neighbors jumped into action, stopping the car and getting the girls out safely.

Firefighters used an airbag to get the car off Tran.

She's been in and out of hospitals ever since and is scheduled for another surgery sometime Wednesday.
