LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Racers hit the pavement early Saturday morning, for the third leg in the Triple Crown of Running, the Papa John's 10-miler.

Michael Eaton of Louisville took the top prize in the men's division, with a time of just over 51 minutes.

Eaton said he enjoyed the race as much as ever, "It was good. the weather was nice. the course was same as always. its a little tough in the middle but it makes for good competition. That Iroquois park area and loop in there is just brutal on your body, the hills, they were hurting all of us today. It was just a matter of who was going to last longer when we got off of them."

Lilian Mariita of Hebron won the women's division with a time of 56 minutes.

The course, proved to be a bit of a challenge, even for the most experienced runners.

More than 7500 people registered for the race, making it one of the largest turnouts in race history.
