Wreckage of missing plane from French Lick found in east Tenn.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Searchers have found the wreckage of a plane that went missing after it took off from French Lick, Indiana, Sunday night.
Officials say the pilot, who was the only person aboard, is dead. Police say the wreckage was found in the Cherokee National Forest in East Tennessee.
The single-engine World War II-era de Havilland DHC 1 was found in an area not easily accessible by car.
The flight was scheduled to land in Canon, Georgia last night.
The plane was not receiving air traffic control guidance.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
Officials in East Tennessee are searching for an aircraft with one person aboard that was reported missing after it didn't reach its destination.
