LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville police have arrested a man who allegedly set fire to a residence in west Louisville -- twice.

According to the arrest report, it happened in the 1900 block of Bank Street around 8:30 p.m. Friday. That's when police say 36-year-old Phillip James Earhart allegedly got into an argument with the mother of their child before setting "a small pile of clothing on fire."

Police say Earhart left the scene after starting the fire; that fire was extinguished, but caused damage to the porch.

After police arrived, Earhart allegedly returned and set another fire inside the residence. Police say that fire caused heavy damage to that residence as well as two other nearby residences.

Police say several witnesses heard Earhart admit to setting the fires.
