LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police say they've arrested a man after he threatened to blow up a house and cut off the heads of his family members.

According to arrest reports, it happened Tuesday, March 25, shortly after 9 p.m., at a home on Whitmore Ave., near the intersection of Taylor Blvd. and Bluegrass Ave.

Police say they were called there after receiving a report that 35-year-old Ralph Dulak and his girlfriend, 25-year-old Ashley Plunkett, were inside the home cooking meth.

Their alleged activity had already caused a fire in the home the previous night, according to the arrest reports.

Dulak's brother was leasing the home. Police say sometime earlier, Dulak -- who is homeless -- came to visit, locked his brother out and told him he was going to cook meth.

Dulak let his brother in briefly on Tuesday around 5:30 p.m. According to police, he was wearing a gas mask at that time and again told his brother he was making meth. He also allegedly threatened to blow up the house and cut his family members' heads off. At that point, Dulak's brother ran away and called police.

When police arrived, they knocked on the door several times, but no one answered. Police say Dulak's brother signed a form consenting to a police search of the home.

At that point, Dulak opened the door, according to police.

Police say neither Dulak nor Plunkett complained when they began searching. According to the arrest reports, what appeared to be meth and syringes were found in a front bedroom. Police also allegedly found a gas mask in the home, which had a "chemical smell," according to the reports.

Both Dulak and Plunkett were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
