LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- No matter if you are a fan of the Cardinals or the Wildcats, Friday night will be about celebrating in the Louisville area.

As a result, The Louisville Metro Police Department wants to make sure those celebrations are safe for both participants and officers.

LMPD, U of L Public Safety and other government agencies have developed a plan that will address traffic-related issues and unlawful behavior.

LMPD says the plan is flexible and allows the department to disperse resources where they may be needed most.

"The primary focus of the NCAA detail will be the prevention and elimination of criminal activity that has been associated with this type of event," the release states.

LMPD will assist U of L Police Department in the area surrounding campus.

There will be some road closures around the U of L campus. Those closures can be found here.
