LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Metro Police say one person is dead in an officer-involved shooting in southwest Louisville.

The Jefferson County Coroner's office has identified the deceased as Tracy L. McCraw. The 25-year-old died of multiple gunshot wounds at University Hospital. Funeral arrangements are pending.

A police spokesperson says the shooting happened just before 9 p.m. Friday on Melody Acres Lane at Cane Run Road.

Three officers responded to shots fired in the area, when neighbors pointed out where the suspect was hiding, police say.

According to police, the suspect then fired at the officers, who shot McCraw during an exchange of gunfire.

He was pronounced dead at University Hospital.

Police say officers Michael McLaurine, Brad Schumann and Justin Haydock were not injured, and have been placed on paid administrative leave.
