U of L fans left disappointed following Cards' defeat

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Fans packed the bars to watch the Friday night face-off between the Cats and Cards.

Police shut down Cardinal Blvd. to make things safer for students on U of L's campus.

U of L officials said nearly 100 officers from LMPD, the Sheriff's Office, and University Police patrolled the campus.

And at the bars, there were a lot of sad faces as U of L lost its lead.

"The crowd's obviously disappointed. It's much smaller than it was last year. But they've handled themselves in a pretty classy manner. We've had no incidents. Everyone seems to be taking it in stride," U of L spokesperson John Drees said.

The crowds dispersed quickly after the loss.
