LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police say an office manager at a local law firm stole over $49,000 from his employer.

According to an arrest report, the thefts took place between Jan. 2011 and Sept. 2013, when 36-year-old Joshua Begley was employed at the firm as an office manager and administrative assistant.

Police say Begley took $49,143 from two of the firm's PNC Bank business accounts. He allegedly did this by depositing numerous forged checks into his personal accounts.

Police say the checks were made to appear as legitimate paychecks, or reimbursement checks.

The signatures on the checks were forged, according to the arrest report.

Police arrested Begley on Friday morning and charged him with theft by deception and criminal possession of a forged instrument.
