LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Jeffersonville side of the Big Four Bridge is expected to open April 30, Mayor Mike Moore tells WDRB.

It comes after the Jeffersonville Redevelopment Commission voted to install temporary lighting on the ramp leading into the city.

The original target date for the popular pedestrian bridge was April 2013, then August and then November.

The project was delayed because of the state of Indiana's requirement that lights must be installed on the bridge.

Moore says a ribbon cutting ceremony will be held on the Jeffersonville ramp of the Big Four on April 30.
