LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- It was the night of March 16 that police say Anthony Allen stabbed 14-year-old Me'Quale Offutt and another teen on a TARC bus.

Authorities released the 911 calls and you can hear a TARC radio operator talking with a Metro dispatcher.

"The guy that's on the bus, he stabbed some kids that's on the bus that's right there at 28th and Broadway."

After talking with six witnesses, it appeared police had a strong case and Allen was charged with murder.

But despite the witnesses, including the bus driver, saying Allen was the instigator of the fight, charges against him were dismissed and Allen was released because a grand jury watched this surveillance video and came to the conclusion that Allen was acting in self defense.

"She did say multiple?"

"Yea, she said he stabbed some kids."

But on the 911 calls, you hear the TARC radio dispatcher say nothing about the group of teens bullying Allen, only about Allen or "a passenger" being the threat.

"She has a passenger on her bus that's very belligerent and he's talking very very nasty and abusive to people on the bus and telling them all types of nasty things that he's going to do up under his clothes."

"A description?"

"She just said he's drunk and loud and talking all types of nasty stuff to them and what he's going to do to them." "Alright, we'll get officers over there."

Police say the recent violent attacks in downtown Louisville are in direct relation to this incident.
