Columbus, Ind. man accused of murder pleads guilty, but mentally ill
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Guilty but mentally ill: that's the plea from a southern Indiana man accused of killing his roommate by slashing her throat.
Ryan Klug admitted during a hearing in Bartholomew County that he killed 26-year-old Adaobi Obih in their Columbus apartment in November. Her body was found two days later -- but Klug had ran away to Texas.
Klug still faces 45-65 years in prison.
Klug told a psychiatrist he was obeying a television message to kill Obih, who was an engineer at Cummins, Inc.
While in prison he will receive treatment.
