High water closes southern Indiana roads

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- High waters from this week's heavy rains keep major roads closed in several southern Indiana. Here is the latest list from the Indiana Dept. of Transportation, issued about 5 p.m. EDT Friday. It is not a complete list; it covers major roads under INDOT's responsibility. It is likely lesser, county and private roads in these areas also are covered by high water.

Clark County

U.S. 31 between Ebenezer Church Road and Perry Crossing Road

Dearborn County

S.R. 262 near Dillsboro (INDOT maintenance crews to repair washout area Monday)

Jackson County

S.R. 135 at the 58.8 mile marker

S.R. 235 between South C.R. 460W to Mill Street at Medora

S.R. 250 from C.R. 825E to U.S. 31

S.R. 258 from CR 425E to Veshlage Road

Ohio County

S.R. 262 between Martin Road and Hueseman Road

Scott County

S.R. 256 from S.R. 39 to C.R. 800E

Washington County

U.S. 150 from S. North Road to S. West Washington School Road

Authorities remind drivers not to drive into standing water. "Turn around, don't drown," as the popular saying goes.  Waters should be receding throughout the area.
