LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Mayor unveiled a new poster for the city Saturday evening, while renaming the city 'Gonzoville' in honor of Louisville native Hunter S. Thompson.
Gonzofest is week-long celebration of the legacy of Thompson that takes place each year. The festival includes music and art inspired by the 'Gonzo Journalism' style made famous by Hunter S. Thompson.
The poster is about 40 feet wide and will be hung on the side of the Bristol on Bardstown Road in the Highlands. City officials say it will be up before The Derby.
The Mayor spoke at Saturday night's event saying that once a year, during Gonzofest, the city would be renamed Hunter's Gonzoville.
