LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Finding a new combination of meat and potatoes is always a budget-friendly recipe for any family. But Kroger Chef Paul Dowell has what could be the ultimate comfort food. He shares his recipe for the "Best EVER Tater Tot Casserole."
Best EVER Tater Tot Casserole
Makes 10 to 12 servings.
1 lb. Kroger Angus Ground Chuck
1 lb. Chorizo Sausage
½ Yellow Onion (diced)
1 Green Bell Pepper (diced)
1 small pkg. Sliced Button Mushrooms
2-10.75 oz. cans Campbell's Fiesta Nacho Cheese Soup
2-10.5 oz. cans Kroger Cream of Mushroom Soup
1-32 oz. pkg. Kroger Tater Tots
Preheat oven to 350°.
In a large sauté pan, brown ground beef & chorizo sausage.
Drain off any excess grease & pour browned meat into a 9"X13" casserole dish.
In the same pan that you cooked the meat in, add vegetables & cook until tender.
Add vegetable mixture to casserole dish.
Add the soups to the casserole dish & stir well to combine.
Top with the tater tots & bake for 45 minutes (until a nice golden brown).
Serve this great crowd pleaser piping hot & enjoy!
