Second suspect arrested after woman killed in Esquire Alley

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police have arrested a second suspect in connection with a March murder in west Louisville.

Officers arrested 30-year-old Cedric L. Wells on April 4 in connection with the shooting death of Ashley Thomas early March 15 in the 1000 block of Esquire Alley. 

According to the arrest report, several people saw Wells shoot Thomas. Another victim was grazed in the hand; she was taken to University Hospital for treatment.

Police say the shooting happened outside an apartment, "putting other people at risk of serious physical injury and death."

According to the arrest report, several people at the scene knew Wells, and identified him from a group of police photos.

On March 16, police arrested another suspect, Roy D. Stone. Stone is charged with murder, assault and wanton endangerment.

Wells was arrested April 4. He's charged with murder, assault, wanton endangerment and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. He's being held at Louisville Metro Corrections on a $100,000 full cash bond.
