Louisville man accused of dousing woman with lighter fluid
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man has been arrested after police say he doused a woman with lighter fluid and threatened to set her on fire.
According to an arrest report, officers were called to an apartment on Cane Run Road, near the intersection of Glen Echo Place and Blue Wing Drive, on Sunday, just after midnight, after they received a report of a domestic disturbance.
When they arrived, they allegedly talked to a woman who said that 43-year-old Donald W. Box had assaulted her the previous evening. The woman -- who police say had several knots in her head -- said she had been pushed and shoved.
She also claimed that, just moments before officers arrived, Box had poured lighter fluid in her hair, causing temporary hearing loss, and pointed a propane torch in her direction, threatening to set her on fire.
A next door neighbor allegedly witnessed the attack, heard screaming, and called 911.
Box was arrested and charged with second degree wanton endangerment.
