CORRECTION Clarksville named sixth most dangerous U.S. suburb

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A real estate research site has ranked Clarksville, Indiana as the sixth most dangerous suburb in the country.

The ranking is according to Movoto, a real estate research site.

On Thursday, WDRB erroneously reported that Clarksville was named the fifth most dangerous small city; it was actually ranked as the sixth most dangerous suburb.

The site looked at 120 suburbs across the country and used the FBI's most recent crime data to rank the cities based on murders, violent crimes, and property crimes.

According to the survey, in 2012, Clarksville residents witnessed the third-worst property crime of any place.

Total crime was ranked 4th. Violent crime was ranked 13th overall. Murder was less common, ranking 22nd.

On Thursday, Clarksville Police Chief Mark Palmer disputed the findings.

Palmer took to Facebook, welcoming anyone to stop at the police station and review the FBI stats for crime in the city.

Palmer was quick to point out that the crime rate in Clarksville has dropped during the last two years.
