LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Keith Kaiser is running bases with the Louisville Bats and his mascot friends for their season opener.
The Louisville Bats return from their six-game opening road trip to begin their 15th season at Louisville Slugger Field at 6:35pm on Thursday, April 10th.
Louisville will take on the Columbus Clippers, Triple-A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians.
Fans can enjoy $1 Bud and Bud Light drafts at the $1 Budweiser Beer Happy Hour on the Overlook Deck from 5:30 to 7 p.m. along with live music from the J.D. Shelburne Band.
The first 2,000 fans age 21-and-over through the gates will receive a Jay Bruce commemorative beer stein.
Also, Bats magnetic schedule will be given away at the gates.
On Friday, the Bats will honor Dr. Walter Badenhausen prior to the start of the 6:35 p.m. game.
The athletic training room in the Bats' clubhouse at Louisville Slugger Field will be dedicated in his honor for his continued service to the Bats and Reds.
Fans will once again be able to enjoy Thunder Over Louisville from Louisville Slugger Field on Saturday, April 12.
Gates to the 2:05 p.m. game against Columbus open at noon and field access passes can be purchased for $5 (initial ticket cost not included).
Laura Bell Bundy will perform in the outfield following the game and the stadium, including restrooms and concessions, will remain open until the fireworks show has concluded.
The Bats have averaged 8,979 fans per game at Louisville Slugger Field since its opening in 2000 and have totaled over 8.8 million fans through 14 seasons.
