LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Louisville Metro Police arrested a suspect after authorities say he assaulted a man with a knife.

Johnnie Hooten was taken into police custody Saturday night on Beech Ave., near the intersection of Churchman Ave. and Bicknell Ave., after he allegedly cut a man across the abdomen, according to police records.

The assault reportedly came after a parking dispute.

Police say the victim was returning home with his wife and three children when the assault happened.

As the victim was exiting his vehicle in the driveway, Hooten allegedly began yelling at the victim. Police say the victim then pushed Hooten away.

Hooten then pulled out a knife and cut the victim's abdomen, leaving an eight-inch wound, police say. The victim was transported to University Hospital.

Hooten is charged with first degree assault.
