LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- St. Matthews Police say a man charged more than $1,000 on a fuel card he stole from his former employer.

Daniel Ray Thompson, 34, allegedly took a Fleet One fuel card from Gould's Discount Medical after he was fired.

According to an arrest report, Thompson charged more than $1,000 to the card at various Thorntons locations over a 30-day period in March.

Police say Thompson confessed to the crimes during an interview with St. Matthews Police.

Thompson did not have permission to use the card after he was fired, and the cards are to be used for company vehicles only, police say.

Thompson is charged with fraudulent use of a credit card.
