Kentucky's 2014 General Assembly nears its end

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Tuesday is the last day of the 2014 regular session of the General Assembly in Frankfort.

Kentucky lawmakers may end up working overtime. An agreement has yet to be reached in the multi-billion dollar state road fund.

The Republican Senate and the Democratic House have until midnight tonight to agree on how to spend that money.

Governor Steve Beshear will have to call lawmakers into a special session if lawmakers cannot reach an agreement.

Overtime sessions cost taxpayers $65,000 each day.

Members from both sides are blaming the other for the disagreement.
