LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - More than a dozen local schools are named among Indiana's 4-star schools for the 2012 - 2013 school year.

Indiana's Superintendent of Public Instruction Glenda Ritz announced the 311 schools that made the list.

A school must be in the top 25th percentile of schools in three ISTEP-based categories to receive the designation.

Thirteen local schools were among those that received the distinction.

That list of schools included Our Lady of Providence High School in Clarksville, Saint Paul School in Sellersburg, Shawe Memorial High School in Madison, St. Mary of the Knobs in Floyd Knobs, Utica Elementary School in Jeffersonville, and East Washington Elementary in Pekin.

Floyd Central High School in Floyd Knobs, Greenville Elementary School in Greenville, Highland Hills Middle School in Georgetown, North Harrison Elementary School and Middle School (both in Ramsey), Silver Creek High School in Sellersburg, and Milltown School in Milltown also made the list of distinguished schools.
