JCPS considering sending out fewer report cards

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB)---JCPS wants to know what you think about a plan to change how often your child get a report card.

JCPS currently issues them six times a year, or every six weeks.

Now, the district is considering issuing grades just four times a year, or every nine weeks.

Officials say that would more-closely align with curriculum and district assessment cycles.

"We have students who still have a few weeks left of studying the same subject or the same content or part of the standard, and they're getting their report cards," says Dewey Hensley, Chief Academic Officer with JCPS.

The survey closes one week from today.
