JCPS School Board looking for final turnaround plan for Meyers Middle School

Posted: Updated:
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The JCPS school board could approve a final turnaround plan for troubled Myers Middle School next month.

Meyers is one of the lowest performing schools in the state. JCPS ordered a change to the Cadet Academy last fall to boost test scores.

Early this year the state trumped that plan, removed the principal and ordered a restaffing of teachers for this fall. Monday night one school board member criticized administrators for moving too slow, especially for students already attending there.

JCPS has held meetings in the last few weeks to talk with teachers and parents about the turnaround plans. A school board member has also suggested administrators ask students for input as well.
