The Derby City Swish lets you exchange clothes and raise money for charity

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Derby City Swish is a large-scale clothing exchange and fundraiser for a local charity hosted by Danielle Manley, Aisha Hellmich and Gemma Fetalver.

What is a Swish?

It's the chance to get rid of the stuff you're tired of looking at (but that's still cute!) and swap it with a new friend.

What is The Center For Women And Families?

Is a private nonprofit organization whose mission is to help victims of intimate partner abuse or sexual violence to become survivors through supportive services, community education and cooperative partnerships that foster hope, promote self-sufficiency and rebuild lives.

What do I bring?

$10 to be donated to The Center For Women And Families

At least 3 women's items to Swish (a combination of garments on hangers and accessories)

----Some suggestions: Pants, Shirts, Skirts, Jackets, Coats, Shoes, Bags, Jewelry, Belts, Derby Hats!, Dresses, Gloves, Etc

What not to bring:

Clothes that are too worn out for someone else to look cute in

Lingerie/foundations/swimsuits/work-out gear

When and Where do I bring it?

Enter at the FedEx/Kinkos on Market Street Downtown, the Bingham Rehearsal Hall is on the 5th Floor

There is a parking garage at 3rd and Main that charges $8 or on-street parking

Showing up at 2 ensures that we have time to properly sort all clothes and accessories into organized chaos

We'll sort for an hour from 2-3 and Swish from 3-4

What happens at the Swish?

People who attend Swish can raise money for The Center for Women and Families,
there will be a raffle for some fabulous items, wine and refreshments will be provided.

Those who attend need to be at least 21 years of age. It's a chance for you to make new friends by trading old clothes and accessories to make new room for fun new ones!
