LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- We now know the conference opponents the University of Louisville men's basketball team will face in its first season in the Atlantic Coast Conference, after the ACC released home and road opponents Tuesday.
"It's just an awesome schedule for our fans," said U of L head coach Rick Pitino.
"With Louisville joining us this coming season, it just adds to the number of new rivalries that are there," said ACC Commissioner John Swofford Tuesday. "When you combine them with the traditional rivalries we have in this league, it's really outstanding."
Here's how it breaks down for the Cards for 2014-15:
HOME/ROAD OPPONENTS Pittsburgh (also home/road for 2015-16) Virginia (also home/road for 2015-16) Miami North Carolina
HOME OPPONENTS Clemson North Carolina State Duke Notre Dame Virginia Tech
ROAD OPPONENTS Boston College Florida State Syracuse Wake Forest Georgia Tech
The following 2015-16 season, Louisville will play Duke and Georgia Tech twice, in addition to Pittsburgh and Virginia.
Overall, it's an 18-game conference schedule. Each of the 15 teams play all 14 opponents once and 4 opponents twice.
