LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Fire officials are trying to determine the cause of a house fire this morning on East Oak Street.

Crews were called to the scene just before 2 a.m. after a woman was awakened by a smoke detector. Officials say the fire started in a bathroom on the second floor and spread into the attic.

The homeowner tried unsuccessfully to put out the fire with a garden hose.

He was treated at the scene for a small cut on his foot.

No other injuries were reported.
