LMPD: Man killed in crash after hitting tree on Algonquin Pkwy

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Metro Police say a man is dead after his car crashed into a tree on Algonquin Parkway.

A police spokesperson says the accident occurred at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, when a silver Ford Fusion traveling east on Algonquin Parkway hit a tree.

According to officials, there were no brake marks on the street and investigators will consider speed as a possibility in the crash.

The driver, who police say is a man in his 20s, was pronounced dead the scene. It is unclear if he was wearing a seatbelt.

The 4100 block of Algonquin Parkway was reopened around 8 p.m. after the fatal crash.
