LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Taverns won't be allowed on the Waterfront in the near future. Metro council members delayed a decision that supporters say would bring more people to the Great Lawn.
Council members say there have questions so the issue was sent back to committee. The proposal would allow taverns -- businesses that sell more alcohol than food -- along the waterfront in addition to restaurants.
The Waterfront Development Corporation says it's targeting areas east of downtown, near the Tumbleweed Restaurant and the new Riverpark Place development.
