Posted: Updated:
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Louisville is receiving money from the government to help prevent pedestrian deaths.

The government's traffic safety division is handing out more than $1.5 million dollars in federal grants.

The money is going to Louisville, Philadelphia and New York City; three cities that have high numbers of pedestrian fatalities.

The funds will be used to educate both drivers and pedestrians, pursue speeders, and create safe walking routes around town.
