LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Fairdale High school student appears before a judge, a day after he is accused of bringing an unloaded handgun to school.

18-year-old Keontaye Minor was arrested this week in the school cafeteria. He was charged with possession of a weapon on school property and disorderly conduct.

A not guilty plea was entered on his behalf in court, but the judge also gave him a stern warning.

The Judge ordered him to stay away from school, saying "you are not to have any contact with Fairdale High School or any contact with any school do you understand that?" Minor replied, "Yes sir."

On Friday, a letter was sent home to parents, explaining that the LMPD school resource officer acted quickly after hearing a report of a student with a weapon.

Minor's bond was set at $25,000.
